The Irish Pest Control Association was officially launched on the 19 July 2002.

The objectives of the IPCA are to work with those organisations that police standards of pest control in food premises, to promote members of the IPCA to potential clients and to raise standards of professionalism within the Irish pest control industry.
The IPCA is managed by an Executive Board which consists of elected representatives from member companies, and is administered by Trade Associations Services. The association is also a member of the Confederation of European Pest Control Associations (CEPA) which represents, at a European level, the interests of national pest control associations throughout Europe.
